UCAN is governed by a seven-member volunteer Board of Directors, serving staggered two-year terms. The first official board was elected by the association membership on February 28, 2025. The board then chose its four officers. The elected board members are:

The initial terms of the three board members who are not officers will expire February 28, 2026. Those seats will be filled at the next election in February 2026. There are no term limits; those three are free to run again in 2026 if they choose, as is any member of UCAN. The initial terms of the four board members chosen as officers will expire February 28, 2027, and be filled in an election in February 2027.

Each March, the newly reconstituted board will select its four officers for the year, who may or may not be the same four who served the previous year.

​Prior to the 2025 election, UCAN was governed by a founding Provisional Board, consisting of Allan Abshez, Alan Levy, Sophie McNeil, Doug Sovern and Paul Valenstein. The provisional board was chosen and elected by UCAN's formative Steering Committee, comprised of 32 neighbors.
